3.31.06 Curses and Blessings

Curses on ye, Payless Shoes! Abandon all hope, ye who enter there! Why do I give in to the lure of the cheap, cheap shoe? Only to limp painfully on the soles of my folly, usually within a mere few hours??

My mother, who is rarely so correct, always told me, "Don't cheat your feet." I owe my shoe fettish and all its spoils to that pithy creed. To my developing blister a la Payless, I owe my cheapness. Never again.

But otherwise, it is a lovely, pretty spring afternoon. My teeth ache, but are fixed and paid for. My skin is still retaining some of the So-Cal sun.

And I have my resignation letter written and signed, awaiting delivery on Monday morning.

There are always trade-offs. I wonder what this one will be? In my favor, I'm hoping.
